Toyota declares Matrix line will live on

October 18th, 2007 by gambit32

I found out yesterday that the Toyota Matrix will not be discontinued as previously stated. AutoWeek originally reported that the line was being discontinued, with the technology being ‘rolled over’ into the Toyota Blade line after 2008.

Obviously I wasn’t too thrilled about this. I may hate to drive, but I’m very fond of my Matrix.

Toyota will be unveiling the second generation of Matrix for the 2009 and later model years at SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas NV from October 30th to November 2nd. The Matrix and Pontiac Vibe will still be based on the Corolla framework, but will have a new upgraded engine from the Camry line, a 157HP 2.5liter V6, most likely the 4GR-FSE
