Researchers allege illegal botnet activity is cause of Ron Paul support

What do you do when a grassroots political campaign completely surpasses the support of any other candidate in the election? Even after a chairman from his own political party requests he be banned from all future debates. When he demolishes everyone else in online polls, to the point that he is removed from those (and future) polls after he gets too many votes, and then the media outlet releases a story saying it was skewed by text-message votes?

Simple! Hire an “independent researcher” to declare that all the hype is actually due to a army of millions of hijacked computers , and allude to the fact that perhaps this result was actually the result of a sold service.

Wired has the full article and its worth a read.
