More winterizing completed
I did a touch more winterizing over the weekend. The patio pet door is removed. Poor construction made it so the flap didnt close all the way after someone came through it. I’ll need to dismantle part of it once the weather gets warmer and see if I can fix it.
One snake is in the basement, the other is still upstairs. I’ll try to move him down this week. Its got to be about 10 degrees warmer down there, so I’m sure he’ll be happy.
Lastly, I covered up the vents in the attic to keep the drafts out. Unlike the windows at my parents place, these are real windows that I can close. One had a piece of wood fitted and drilled for easy covering, the other I had to cover with insulation. Already theres is a noticable temperature difference in the hallway beneath where the attic stairs are.
Hopefully this all will make the heating bills less painful. I still have the thermostats hovering between 50/55 for the time being while I hammer these things out. Once I get the next bill, I’ll see how it compares to last year.
