Don’t run your WHOIS queries through NetSol

Don’t run your WHOIS queries through Network Solutions servers, unless you plan on using them as your registrar. As I’ve known for ages, and the rest of the world finally picked up on, NetSol has been watching domains searched, then INSTANTLY registerring them.

They say this is to allow NetSol customers the ability to purchase them first. The domains stay reserved for 5-10 days then go back into the pool.

C|Net has the full story.  Slashdot and Domain Name News picked it up too.

So if you plan on buying a domain, be ready to drop the money down as soon as you determine its available.
