Super Douchey Moment today
I think the way to combat these terribly embarassing moments correctly is to post them publicly and hopefully I’ll desensitize myself to them. Its not working so far, but….
I’m a HUGE fan of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Mike introduced it to us at Sci-Fi Night about 6 weeks ago or so, and I can’t get enough of it. To me, its the new Cannibal the Musical.
During a slow time on Paltalk today, I put it on the Zune and watched it. I might have a tendency to sing along. And apparently, I forgot to turn my camera off.
Being asked out of the blue “Are you recording something, or are you talking to yourself?” isn’t a good sign. Apparently I’m rather gesturely animated when I sing along to a 21st century geek-themed musical. However, I think I did procure a convert. She bookmarked it, so hopefully she’ll get as much joy as I do from it.
Anyway: Ugh.
I still contend this is one of the best things I’ve seen in years, and as soon as it comes out it will be the first DVD I’ve bought since early 2006. I can’t say enough good things about it. Joss did a great job.
It was on iTunes for free for a while, but was re-released on Hulu for a while until they can secure a good DVD release. I’ll urge you to check it out now, and to get the DVD once it comes out.

My grandfather’s old house in Old Saybrook is up for sale at $425K. He lived there until … 94? 95? Sometime when I was in middle school. Its amazing to see what the new owners did with the place, I think every single room has been updated and changed.

Walkover went great, but I was basically sick as a dog. I left work early Monday, and it really didn’t quell itself for today. I think its some migraine side-effects: dizzyness, nausea, exhaustion. etc. I didn’t bother to stick around for R&F, even though I knew I wouldn’t get up. I just wanted to tip my hat when I saw them make their way inside, then head back to GCT.
I pulled the same schedule I did last week, so I got within the protected contour for KROCK around 6am, and could start picking the show up while I’m the train on the way in. Left me with some extra time before the walkover, but all was good. I was able to meet up outside CBS, then go on upstairs 4 other folks for the XM portion of the show. I picked a good day, one with Jimmy running on lack of sleep; Today this seemed to leak over to everyone else there.
I didn’t take many photos, but I had the camera with me anyway. This was the S700, so its kind of bulky to cart. Next time, the S860 gets a trip. I have 13 more vacation days I need to burn up by the end of the year, so I’ll probably do this walkover once a month if I feel up to it.

Yeah I know its last-minute, but I’m attempting the walkover between XM and CBS on the 5th, like I did last week. Facebook people, my number and blackberry email are list. My gmail is also readily available. Comment here, whatever. I figure I’m gonna run-early like I usually do, so that means I’ll be established in the city by 7:30. I’ll be outside CBS at probably from 8:30 until they come out, but before that I’ll most likely be in the sitting area to the west of the Brooklyn Diner.
I realized I have basically 14 vacation days I need to use up by the end of the year. I plan on doing this monthly. Its just that last weeks epic failure makes me want to try again ASAP to make it work right.
Theres a reason I don’t call into radio shows often, and when I do, I go out of my way to NOT listen to the audio of it.
This is why. Ant picked up a “Back to the Future” ring at the Virus Show saturday, and I wanted to bring it up on-air. Yet, the cadence and tone of my dialogue….. ugh. If I had access to a time-traveling delorean, I’d go back to 78/79, give my parents a pack of wire hangers, and beg that they use them.
I should be slapped.

Opie & Anthony’s Traveling Virus went out well this year. I honestly don’t think I’ve had this much fun in years now. Things went off, for me at least, without a hitch.
I got my ticket a month ago, but I honestly had no intention of going into the venue what so ever. I went down to hang with my friends in the parking lot, not to go inside. I arrived at 1:20ish, and you know you’re in a good crowd when you pull into a spot and can hear people start screaming “GAAAAMBIT” before you even turn the radio down or open a door or window
