Opie & Anthony’s Traveling Virus went out well this year. I honestly don’t think I’ve had this much fun in years now. Things went off, for me at least, without a hitch.
I got my ticket a month ago, but I honestly had no intention of going into the venue what so ever. I went down to hang with my friends in the parking lot, not to go inside. I arrived at 1:20ish, and you know you’re in a good crowd when you pull into a spot and can hear people start screaming “GAAAAMBIT” before you even turn the radio down or open a door or window

Mike just sent this to me; I had used the Police Call CDs since probably 1992 or 93. This guy did amazing work for the radio community, but the internet basically put him out of business. I can’t tell you how many times I used my Police Call book and CDs, even though the web was available.
Thank you sir for all your hard work. You will be missed

This Saturday at Midnight, immediately following The Lazlow Show on XM 202: Secret Show To The Future.
In this latest installment, to top off the last 2 months worth of nonstop Back To The Future references, Anthony and Danny will be doing live commentary while watching BTTF in studio. Listeners are encouraged to follow along, and to sync up their viewing with the show. Steps will be taken to take the radio and satellite propogation delays into account.
Considering how the last Secret Show went, you can be guaranteed this will be nearly 3 hours of drinking, and by the end some pretty amazing inebriated commentary. If you don’t have XM, you can listen online on their stream offering. Its got a free trial that will cover you.
I’ll be signed in over on Paltalk and listening in whatever room is running a stream. I’m expecting the live room to be open, but you can find me as ‘gambit32′ and I’ll invite you to wherever things are going down.
Here is Danny’s commercial for the show.

Come back Sunday, and I’ll see if I can get the secret show posted someplace…. secret … or someplace else secret.

Somehow I managed to damage myself pretty well. About 2 weeks ago, over the course of 3 days I lost nearly all the feeling in my left arm from elbow to fingertips. Its slowly backed off where Im feeling a 50% loss of feeling in my ring/pinky fingers, but the grip on the rest of the hand is rather weak.
Its like somethings been hitting my funny bone nonstop. Two specialists think its some sort of ulnar nerve compression, which I’m likely to agree with. However, it doesnt fully explain the tingling I’m feeling in the rest of my hand and the outer forearm. It also doesn’t explain the similar tingling sensations in the other arm, but fortunately there there is no loss of feeling.
I’ve been fitted with this god-awful brace set at a 30º-40º angle to relieve tension in my elbow where the nerves are. They think its from cubital tunnel syndrome. The source could be any one of 5 different things I was able to pinpoint as a cause, ranging from ergonomic changes at work to flat-out stress.
As of right now, my system is being flooded with anti-inflammatories, a strong regimen of heat application, and I’ve been fitting with this contraption to wear during my sleep for the next month or so. If this doesn’t help, next step looking into nerve conduction studies and seeing if there is a larger overall problem which might explain the tingling I’m feeling in the other arm.
Its not necessary for during the day, but they did say it might help if I was able to use it all the time. I’m still heading to work, I can still type (although rather clumsily,) and it doesn’t exactly make me feel the safest while driving.
And to think, I was hoping to leave the doc’s office with just a cortisone shot and an appointment for a follow-up.
Whee.
edit: ooooh. ouch. i just got stuff from MVP in the mail today. Guess what piece of medical equipment wasnt covered in any manner by my insurance. Ooof.

People who know me, know I respect our veterans to such an extent, it isnt even funny. A few years ago, two comics took time out from their normal strips to honor the day. Most comics are one-and-done, but these I saved. I want to share.

Sorry about the lack of posts lately. They’ve changed my work location and doubled my commute. Between that, and still trying to do the stuff I usually do outside of work, I haven’t had much time to find new material to make note of here.
Give me a few weeks to get back in the swing of things.
